A photo of a woman exposing her genitals appears every time I go to a tribe I created. Apparently, it's a photo of one of the individuals who choose to join my site. I was offended by the photo (as were others) and wrote to the content manager. I was shocked at the response I got. Tribe felt that it was OK for this woman (and others) to post pornographic photos. Tribe needs to review it's code for Conduct and Content. If the rules have changed, they need to let decent folks know. Here is the E-mail string below.

E-mail from me to the content editor:
"Hello, I would like to report a Pornography site called, “kinky mature women & we that love them”. It is connected through a member of my tribe, “The Over 40 Crowd”. It’s posting porn photos and other porn tribes next to my site when it is open. I would like to be disassociated with this tribe. Actually, I don’t think that porn should be allowed at all. If you can not remove the linkages to the porn, I will be forced to shut down the tribe, as I do not want to be associated with any pornography.
Thank you. "

Hi xxxxxx,
Thank you for your patience! We have determined that the tribes in question do not violate our Terms of Use.
Connected Tribes show you other Tribes that have the most members in common with the Tribe you're viewing. Our engineers used various calculations to come up with the most accurate portrayal of what your fellow Tribe members are into. Therefore, you cannot alter your Connected Tribes list. However, you can influence them, by inviting members from tribes you'd like to be connected with yours, and possibly ousting members from tribes you'd rather not be associated with.
Please note that the Connected Tribes module does appear in Private tribes.
If you have any additional questions at all, please feel free to reply to this message.
Best,
xxxxx, xxxx

My reply:
Quite frankly, I am shocked at your response. I absolutely do disagree that a photo of a woman exposing her genitals should be displayed right next to my tribe, especially when my tribe is not related to that type of content in any way. I have attached a screen shot of her. Please look at the photo of the woman exposing herself on the left side of the screen. How could you possibly think that that would be acceptable for viewers? There are lots more photos on your site just like this one, which I sent to you, which you have obviously chosen to ignore. …And I’m not looking for them, they just display when I’m searching for non-sexual-oriented content.
Just in case you need a remedial review of your site’s code of conduct, here is the section that prohibits this type of material. What part of this do you not get?
--------------------------
1. Conduct and Content
While using or accessing the Service--directly or indirectly--you agree to take a constructive tone and practice good etiquette and courtesy and you agree NOT to:
b.post, publish, or transmit any text, graphics, or material that is illegal or violates local and national laws or that contains, encourages, advocates, or expresses: obscenity, pornography, sexually explicit conduct, child pornography, the making or buying of illegal weapons or illegal drugs, hatred, bigotry, racism, profanity, vulgarity or gratuitous violence or use of weapons;
------------------------------
I’m really embarrassed by the photo (and lots of other similar photos), and your site managers should be too. Sites like yours are chasing away lots of decent folks. Your assumption is that “everyone” likes to view smut and pornography. Guess what! Not all of us do. Get a clue... and shame on you!

well will,
Mon, April 30, 2007 - 7:49 PMif you don't like the content, change the screen. ie: coming in and saying 'i don't think porn should be allowed at all' on a site for over 18 folks who are creating the content (especially when you are new enough to this site to have only 8 friends and not much in the way of a profile except for shilling for your 'very funny' videos) is just bad form.
so is spamming this post to every group you've joined on tribe.net.
and while i'm at it, so is using the term 'decent folks' to describe anti-pornography or anti-nudity people.
i don't see this having anything to do with judaism, so i'm a bit offended by your spamming this group with your personal need to censor this site. -

Hear hear!
Angel, your response is in the same vein as the one I made on "Jew Tribe". I'm grateful to see I'm not the only one who finds Ape's behavior to be more deplorable than the content he/she is complaining about.
We had a bit of an uber-right scare on Tribe.net a little over a year ago when it seemed that everything deemed as "adult" was being banned. Art, literature and free-thought were all being removed by the admin. Thank G'd that did not last longer than six months. I would dearly hate to see a return to those horrible times.
Thank you Angel and thank everyone who stands against rampant, baseless censorship!
Who'd fight such injustices if not the Chosen? (Had to bring it in somehow..)
